"Kim came into my pregnancy near the end as I switched from working with hospital doctors to midwives at Birthing Your Way. From the minute we meet Kim was so kind and understanding, she made me feel validated in my worries and concerns. Even before I had fully committed to having my records moved over she was offering me help and advice which I had yet to receive elsewhere. She was always so calm and you could feel her genuine love and concern for your well-being. She was amazing at sharing the straight facts and both and pros and cons of every decision parents need to make along the pregnancy and birth journey without pushing you to one choice over the other. During labor and delivery Kim was my constant cheerleader knowing exactly what to say to help me push on. She watched for what was working and helped guide me to making the right motions to help get my baby out easier. When things didn’t turn out as expected at the end of my birthing journey and I needed emergency stitching Kim was there the whole time giving me the options and the choice of what to do. She comforted me in so many ways that there was never any doubt about how much she cared for mine and my child’s well being. I am so grateful that I found Kim during my first pregnancy journey because she helped me achieve my dreams of having a natural unmediated birth. Thank you so much Kim for everything and I will see you again when we are ready to have our next child because there is no one I trust more with my families care then you."

Kim has a lot of experience and is very personable. She also doesn't pressure you in your decision making— just tries to get you whatever information you may need, in order to make an informed decision. Perhaps her greatest superpower is to remain calm in stressful situations. My husband couldn't believe how collected she was when things got a little stressful at my birth. Not that everyone else in the room was freaking out, but she was definitely a great comfort to both of us, with her calmness. Kim is a wonderful midwife to have!

I LOVE Kim! She is so knowledgeable, encouraging, patient, and kind! She was my midwife for my first baby and she helped me have a wonderful first birth! I could tell that she always genuinely cared for me and my baby and she truly had my best interest in mind. She didn’t try to cut corners for her convenience at all. She answered all my many questions and did so with kindness and great knowledge. She is truly awesome!

I gave birth to my daughter in September and unfortunately only got to meet Kim a week before. Even though we had very little time to get to know each other she still made my birth incredible. As challenging as an unmedicated birth can be, having a calm and supportive midwife is key. Kim is just that, she is respectful enough to let your body naturally run its course, knowledgeable enough to know when something is wrong and supportive when the contractions get hard. She went above and beyond for postpartum care and reached out just to see how we were holding up even when she didn’t need to. She has amazing tips on breast feeding and milk supply. I plan to have Kim again at the next birth.

I’ve experienced her work as a doula multiple times and as a client! She’s an amazing Midwife and provider. Very knowledgeable, answers all my questions and got me to study on many other topics. I was comfortable and felt safe from our first meeting and during the fourth trimester. My birth with Kim was the best experience and I refer anyone interested in home birthing to her! Her care is better than a lot that I’ve witnessed and experienced! 10/10

Our experience with Kim was absolutely spectacular. Each prenatal visit was characterized with love, intentionality, and safety. She affirmed my body autonomy and encouraged me to make informed decisions for myself and baby. She consistently reminded me that my body is divinely intelligent and knows exactly how to birth a child. I was able to experience the home birth of my dreams with her and my husband by my side.

I highly recommend Kim, especially for families who are looking for a holistic prenatal, birth, and postnatal experience. She is THE ONLY black certified professional midwife in the the area and should be honored for her contribution to safe birthing outcomes for black women.

I had an excellent experience with Kim! My husband and I used her for prenatal care and for the birth of our third daughter. My husband and I had our first two children at local hospitals. The experience was OK but I have always yearned to have a home birth. I searched high and low and found Kim through a google search. There were several other companies I reached out to but they were unavailable to take my call. When I reached out to Kim, she got back to me immediately. Kim and I set up a initial consultation with one another to see if we were a good fit. My husband and I were not looking for a picture perfect Instagram birth. We wanted someone who would be there in the event of an emergency and who would give us flexibility and freedom we desired. Kim was always attentive and caring throughout the entirety of our pregnancy. She gave the same experience as a hospital would when it came to testing for STDS, and gestational diabetes- so the professionalism and the quality matched what I previously had with my first children. One of my other memorable moments about Kim and her professionalism was that she was able to send me to highly rated doctor for my ultra sound. This doctor was beyond kind and personally attended to me to double check my ultrasound before I left her office. It gave me so much reassurance to know that our baby was happy and healthy. Another thing that was great about going to Kim was that my husband and two kids were welcomed with open arms into her office. We had our pregnancy during a time where Covid changed policies on who could accompany mothers to appointments. At Kims office my entire family was always welcomed with open arms. Her office is family oriented so her office provided toys for my other children. She gave me my dream birth experience. I found her to be very patient and understanding. During an intense contraction, I shooed Kim and Sunni out of my home. They respected my wishes and when I told them to come back when I was ready to push, they did just that. This is the exact attitude and vibe that I needed. I wanted a team that would listen to MY needs. I loved the water birth experience. She even had a device that kept the water warm which my husband and I were thankful for. She cleaned up the birth pool and all the stuff pertaining to the birth and let me enjoy my baby once was here. I highly recommend to any mother and father who want to welcome their child to the earthside at home. This was one of the most empowering choices I have ever made and I am so thankful Kim and Sunni gave me a welcoming space to do that. Thank you both again!

I had a Homebirth (January 2020) with Kimberly. The entire prenatal, birthing and postpartum process was amazing! This was my 2nd birth (1st homebirth). My prenatal services were amazing, I felt like Kimberly and her team were super thorough, answering all of my questions and empowering me throughout the entire process. I would come to our sessions and Kimberly would empower me to making the best healthcare decision for myself and my baby.

With my first birth I had an induction so I never got to experience my body going into labor on it’s own. Kimberly allowed me to be comfortable with the duration of my pregnancy and Never tried to rush the process.

During the birth Kimberly’s team arrived and took charge when needed but the biggest piece I needed and appreciated was them making me feel safe by recognizing triggers caused by the trauma of my 1st birth. They remained calm and helped me to focus on the birth at hand. My baby was born safely at home with their support and love.

I honestly could not have pictured my baby’s birth any other way. The women here have believed in me and believed in my baby. They have loved my family through this entire process and I cannot express my appreciation for their services enough. I am so grateful for Kimberly & her team and know any subsequent births I have their team will be the first on my list! I definitely recommend them hands down to anybody! Thank you so much for all you do and continue to do!
